Use the overlay color tool to add a see-through layer of color on top of an image.
One use case for this tool is "darkening" or "lightening" an image that you want to use as the background for a section. For example, you may want to use the following image as the background of a section of your email:
You can overlay the color black onto this image to make it darker, suitable for adding some white text on top:
To use this tool:
- Open the image editor
- Check the "Overlay Color" checkbox
- Select the color you want to overlay
- If desired, click the color wheel icon to adjust the opacity of the overlay color
If no opacity is specified, a default opacity is chosen for you.
