You can choose from the following scheduling options when sending your campaign:
Send Now
The campaign is delivered as soon as possible. If you have other campaigns that are currently being delivered, the campaign will be queued to send as soon as the others are finished.
Send Later
Choose a date and time for the campaign to be delivered. When picking the time, you can choose the time zone:
- Your Time Zone: Recipients receive your email at the chosen time according to your time zone
- Recipient's Time Zone: Recipients receive your email at the chosen time according to their time zone (e.g. 9 AM local time). If our system does not know the time zone of the recipient, they will receive it at the chosen time according to your time zone. Because some time zones may be "earlier" than your local time zone, you may see Direct Mail start to send your campaign before the chosen time arrives in your time zone.
Direct Mail can also artificially slow down or spread out the delivery of your campaign over a number of hours. This can be useful in preventing your website or team from being overwhelmed by the response to a campaign. Choose from:
- Delivery all at once: Campaign is not delayed or slowed down
- Spread out delivery over X hours: Choose over what period of time you'd like the campaign delivered
Time-zone delivery and slow delivery are mutually exclusive options.
Delivery time, time zone, and slow delivery options can be modified after the campaign is queued for delivery:
- Navigate to the Reports tab
- Select the campaign
- Click Manage Delivery
- Choose Reschedule Delivery or Cancel Delivery
Save as Draft
This option queues your campaign for delivery but does not send it until some future date. This option can be useful when configuring a series of autoresponder emails.
When you are ready to send your draft campaign:
- Navigate to the Reports tab
- Select the campaign
- Click Manage Delivery
- Choose Reschedule Delivery or Cancel Delivery
Delays Are Possible
Due to the nature of internet email, it is possible for emails to get delayed on their way to the inbox. For example, recipient email servers can be temporarily offline or may temporarily slow down their incoming email streams. In most cases, our deliverability team is able to identify and resolve issues as they occur. If you have questions, please contact us.
